EvoEnzyme is a spin-off from the laboratory of Miguel Alcalde at the Institute of Catalysis and Petrochemistry (ICP), part of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) — Spain’s largest public research institution and the third largest in Europe. Our solutions build on more than two decades of work developing strategies for applied biocatalysts and protein engineering through directed enzyme evolution — now translated into products and services for the biotech, chemical and pharmaceutical industries.

EvoEnzyme partners with leading universities to host final-degree projects, master’s theses and industrial PhD programs, with talks, lab visits and open house days that introduce students to directed enzyme evolution as part of their academic curriculum.
Degree requirements
We currently focus on candidates enrolled in, or holding, one of the following degrees: Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, or Molecular Biology / Omics Sciences. Given the specialized nature of our work, we’re not able to consider applications outside these fields — thank you for understanding.
