EvoEnzyme has been named one of the 6 success stories from the first decade of healthstart madri+d, and one of only 2 in the Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical category. The recognition was presented in person by Mirina Cortés Ortega, Viceconsejera de Universidades, Investigación y Ciencia of the Comunidad de Madrid.

healthstart madri+d is run by Fundación para el Conocimiento madri+d, supported by the Comunidad de Madrid, and for ten years it has helped early-stage health and biotech ideas from Madrid’s hospitals, universities and research centers turn into real companies, through mentoring, funding and access to a wider innovation network. It’s one of the reasons the region’s health and biotech scene has grown the way it has.

EvoEnzyme went through the program back in 2018, a year

before the company was even founded, when it was still a CSIC spin-off idea taking shape with the help of healthstart’s mentors. Eight years on, being singled out among the program’s best examples says a lot about that journey, and about everyone who helped along the way.
