EvoEnzyme had the pleasure of welcoming a group of students from the Master’s in Biotechnology at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM).

The visit began with an introduction to the Parque Científico de Madrid facilities, followed by an in-depth presentation by EvoEnzyme team member Juan Cerrolaza. During his talk, he highlighted the company’s current mission and the high-impact projects driving their research and development.

Through the CirculH2 project, students learned about the hydrogenase enzyme engineering work being carried out with the objective to develop innovative, sustainable solutions for hydrogen production and use within a circular economy.

Also, with the W-BioCat project, they connected with the potential of W-enzymes (tungsten-containing enzymes) and their role in the transition toward sustainable chemistry.

Beyond the technical presentations, the students were given a tour of the laboratory technologies. The visit concluded with a highly interactive Q&A session, discussing the challenges and opportunities within the biotechnology sector.
