Laccases are ecological enzymes that oxidize a wide array of compounds using oxygen from the air and releasing water as a by-product. As a result, there are dozens of applications for these enzymes in the bioremediation, textile, pulp and paper, chemical and pharmaceutical industries.
EvoEnzyme’s evolved mutant laccases have a high-redox potential, which allows them to work with high potential redox mediators (laccase mediator systems) and they have been designed ad-hoc to improve their performance (including tolerance to high temperature and extreme pH).
